Ten Reasons to Go Organic

Nuclear FREE
Here is a form letter you can cut and paste into your word program to send to your elected representative also some websites with more information on nuclear power.
Attention Elected Members;
I am a certified organic grower using environment friendly sustainable agriculture to produce healthy chemical free food. I am very concerned with the proposal to Generate Nuclear Power in Alberta.
Canadian Nuclear Standards are not equivalent to other countries; this will jeopardize our ability to market organic food worldwide.
Our stressed environment cannot handle radioactive contamination in our air and water. Future Generation’s DO NOT need 4000 years of contamination with spent fuel.
We need the support of Government to keep producing healthy food and have a nuclear free sustainable renewable environment.
Concerned citizen
- We need to be concerned about air and water radioactive contamination.
- Radium released from Uranium mining and transport.
- Tritium radioactive hydrogen
- Strontium 90 - emission gathers in milk
- Cesium 137 emission gathers in muscle tissue
- Canadian standard changed in 1993 because of high tritium emission by Candu reactor
- Canadian standard 7000 bequils per litre
- Europe standards 20 – 100 bequils per litre
- All standards are higher In Canada
- The largest problem, is spent fuel very radioactive 10 years stored in water to cool then no safe place disposal
- Germany did a health study & are moving to decommission all reactors in the next 2 decades
- Guelph University study proved inpact on plant life with tritium emission
- Deformed plants near reactors, stillbirth in animals.
- We can generate environmentally friendly power much cheaper with sun, wind, water, clean coal, hydrogen integrated bio refineries that is sustainable forever
